Just before Christmas, on Saturday, December 21, the St. Nicholas Taekwon-do Tournament was held for the 16th time. This event combines a sports competition with a family festival. This year, 197 competitors took part, which is over 21 more people than last year. If we added their siblings and guardians, it would make quite a large number.

Everything officially began at 9:00 a.m., when the Małe Smoki began arriving at the sports hall. However, for this to happen, we had started organizing everything two months earlier, and on the day of the tournament, our instructors and helpers (trainees and parents) began working at 7:00 a.m. The Małe Smoki had to complete an obstacle course, where they performed exercises on a coordination ladder, a forward roll, kicks on a pad, and broke a board. At the end of the course, speed-kicking challenges awaited them as a separate competition. Additionally, those who wished could use their flexible bodies and compete for a medal in the splits. Some parents of the Małe Smoki did not want merely to participate passively in the tournament and signed up for soft-stick fights. This year, the men came out on top, taking all the podium places.
