Małe Smoki coaches with medals at the Polish Open Cup!
On 18 November in Opole, 43 KCT competitors represented our club during this year’s largest Taekwon-do sporting event, the Polish Open Cup. They won 35 medals counting towards the overall competition standings. Among others, the medals were won by Ewa Wójcik, Andrzej Walocha and Michał Krupa, who lead Małe Smoki classes.
Among the previously mentioned trio, Andrzej Walocha reached the highest step of the podium. For several years, he has been a Małe Smoki instructor at the Albertyńskie housing estate. He won the gold medal in the senior, light contact, men’s, -82 kg category. Michał Krupa—holder of a black belt in taekwon-do and karate—took second place in the senior, light contact, men’s, -70 kg category. The men were not the only ones to rise to the occasion. Ewa Wójcik—a new addition to our dragon team—took second place in the senior, light contact, women’s, -61 kg category. She also won gold in the senior, traditional formal patterns, women’s, coloured belts category, as well as bronze in the senior, semi contact, women’s, -165 cm event. However, due to an insufficient number of competitors in these categories, she is not entitled to the title. Coaches like these are true role models for their students. Congratulations!
