Summary of the 2019 winter camp in Kluszkowce
During this year’s winter break, 71 people spent a week with us in Kluszkowce, where a winter camp was held for children and teenagers travelling independently, as well as Małe Smoki together with their guardians. The weather was kind to us and there was plenty of snow—just as there should be in winter.
We stayed at Gościniec Pieniński, which provided participants with accommodation in rooms for 2–5 people with private bathrooms, a great convenience. Meals were served three times a day, giving us energy for the whole day. The camp was divided not only into Małe Smoki with their parents and independent children and teenagers, but also into those who preferred winter fun on the slopes and those who preferred additional taekwon-do training, since, as we know, the exam was just around the corner.
The group that chose the snowy fun of skiing and snowboarding went to the slopes every day (except on the arrival and departure days), to Polana Sosny or Wdżar. They set off for the slope right after breakfast, so they could return for a delicious lunch and have strength for the next attractions. Participants were divided into less and more advanced groups so that everyone could make the most of the trip. There was also an instructor on the slope who taught our participants who were just beginning their adventure with this sport or wanted to improve their skills.
The rest of the campers had taekwondo training three times a day. This allowed them to significantly improve their skills. In addition, they played table football, practised archery, watched films and built a snowman.
There was also one great attraction every day. During our stay, we managed to watch a performance by a highland band, take part in a sleigh ride, ju jitsu and zumba classes, and hold a sketch competition. Of course, the camp initiation could not be omitted, where, apart from the disgusting soup, the greatest challenge was running barefoot through the snow.
The parents of Małe Smoki who were with us at the camp also led an active lifestyle. Taekwon-do training and playing in the snow were no challenge for them.
Thank you for the time we spent together. See you at the summer camp!
