A participant’s perspective on the camp in Zawoja!
“This year’s winter Taekwon-do camp was just as wonderful as in previous years” – that is what Emilia says, and she knows what she is talking about. After all, she is a regular attendee at our camps. Read what she wrote about our winter camp in Zawoja.
The coaches took care of our all-round development through a wide range of activities. Taekwon-do training sessions were held every day – twice a day for the training group and once a day for the skiing and snowboarding groups. The training sessions were conducted in groups, which made it easier for us to improve our skills. In addition, in the evenings Coach Mikołaj led training sessions for the “team”, during which camp participants with higher ranks and our group leaders could practise more advanced techniques.
The skiing and snowboarding groups went to the slopes every day. Some people skied at the “Wojtek” lift, while a selected, more advanced group went to the Mosorny Groń slope.
During the camp, archery competitions and a table tennis championship were also organised, and the winners of these contests received interesting prizes. Our group leaders also took care of our artistic experiences by taking us on a sightseeing sleigh ride and organising a song contest related to our sport. It caused a great sensation and made it difficult to create the perfect song.
It was hard to get bored during the trip, as additional attractions were organised even between training sessions and meals, such as watching films and trips to the shop. As at every camp, there had to be a mini disco, during which everyone could dance together to group choreographies typical of camps as well as to well-known music hits.
On the last day, a trip to the ice rink was also organised. The older participants went first, but due to the weather they returned completely soaked and the remaining trips were cancelled. The entire trip was wonderfully organised, and everyone had a wonderful time in the company of old and new friends and the best coaches.
