The End of the Holidays at the Family Sports Holiday in Bukowina

This year, we ended the holidays in Bukowina Tatrzańska together with little, big and old dragons. We spent this time training taekwon-do, swimming in the pool, playing squash and enjoying other sporting activities or relaxation.

We stayed at the Grand Stasinda resort, where, apart from top-class rooms, we had at our disposal a 25-metre swimming pool, 2 jacuzzis, 2 dry saunas and 1 steam sauna, a salt cave, conference and gym rooms, outdoor sports fields, a gym, a squash court, a function room, a bowling alley, a playroom for children, and a café. There was plenty to choose from, and there was no time for boredom. Meals, served as a plentiful Swedish buffet at every mealtime, provided a break between activities.

Breakfast was served from 8 to 10, allowing each participant to spend the morning as they liked without missing the shared activities. Parents went on morning walks together with views of the mountains, took cycling trips or were able to get a good night’s sleep.

After breakfast, there were pool activities and taekwon-do training for the little and big dragons. The children were divided into 3 groups, and this division remained in place throughout the stay. The little ones stopped being afraid of the water, while the older children learned new styles and reminded themselves of what they could already do. During taekwon-do training, we worked on our fitness and repeated kicks so that we could enter the new season without stress.

After the pool and training for each group, it was time for lunch and rest. An hour of swimming in the pool, and an hour of taekwon-do shortly before or afterwards, depending on the group, can make a person tired. After some time to ourselves, we had a 2-hour block with the children. At the same time, there was a one-hour training session for the old dragons. During this week, the little and medium dragons had basketball games, archery, a quiz, charades, arts and crafts, sports competitions and an animated film screening. Something for everyone. Apart from taekwon-do, the old dragons took a particular liking to volleyball and basketball games. Emotions ran high.

It is also worth mentioning squash, which appealed to our camp participants regardless of age. We trained in groups of 4 or 5 for an hour under the supervision of an instructor. After the first 2 days, there were so many people interested that we had to rent the court for additional hours. After such a siege, it can be expected that this was not our last encounter with the sport.

After dinner, our little and big dragons still had mini disco to look forward to. There were two versions – with dancing trainers and iconic songs, and Just Dance from YouTube. This meant that both younger and older participants could dance freely on the floor. Bowling was also very popular. Sign-ups were held two days in advance. Everyone threw the balls, from the little dragons to the old ones.

To finish, here is a statement from one of the old dragons, who had been to the camp before: “For me, without a doubt, the best camp, and it seems to me that we were integrated in the largest group. 😀
Thank you all very much! See you at bowling and in winter!!”

See you!
