The 4th Kraków Cup is behind us!

210 female and male competitors from 6 clubs from all over Poland registered to take part in the 4th Kraków Cup. The competition took place on 12 December 2020 at the Com Com Zone sports hall in Nowa Huta. For the participants, it was one of the few, if not the only, opportunities to compete this year.

Krakowskie Centrum Taekwon-do has been organising the Kraków Cup for several years. It usually takes place in May, but this year that date was unavailable due to the lockdown. Therefore, instead of a St Nicholas tournament, we decided to organise this somewhat more serious competition.

We had to meet all sanitary requirements. For this reason, the competition took place without spectators; the judges and competition staff wore face masks, and individual age groups competed at different times. Unfortunately, we had to withdraw the events for the youngest taekwondo practitioners.

81 competitors represented our club. Among them were both the most experienced participants, including even our coaches, and debutants. In total, our competitors won 109 medals, including 31 gold, 40 silver and 38 bronze.

The competition was held at a very high level. For the first time, the speed-kicking events were organised using the Zemita electronic system.

The competition took place thanks to the financial support of the Małopolska Voivodeship as part of the “Małopolska na sportowo” project, for which we sincerely thank the Marshal’s Office.
