Report from the Family Sports Holiday in Zubrzyca Górna – Session I
Family sports holidays combine relaxation with active time spent with those closest to us. The youngest students have the opportunity to experience camp life in the company of their families. Organized activities for children and parents take place every day. This year, the weather was not very kind, but nobody was bored anyway. See for yourselves!
Orawski Dwór is a guesthouse located in a picturesque area with a view of the Tatra Mountains and Babia Góra. The place is wonderfully arranged with families with children in mind. Outside, there is a vast open area, a sports field and a playground. Naturally, whenever the weather allowed, the group actively enjoyed the charming grounds.
Every day after a shared breakfast, the children had a total of 3 hours of sports, arts and educational activities. An especially unique task was the original T-shirt design project. The participants were given fabric paints and a white T-shirt, which they painted according to their own vision.
The swimming pool sessions also took place at midday. Children aged 5 to 8 took part in this session. Their swimming skills varied, but progress in learning this activity was visible every day. The coaches tried to familiarize the participants with the water as much as possible and help them overcome their fear. The exercises were performed in groups and individually, with equipment such as pool noodles and kickboards proving helpful. The sessions were definitely a success!
After an afternoon rest, training sessions were held for the children and for parents who wished to participate. This is a fantastic initiative, as guardians do not have to wonder who will look after their little one. Activities for adults take a general fitness form with elements of taekwon-do, and are therefore intended for both beginners and advanced participants.
Many people confronted their weaknesses during a trip to the “Wypasiona Dolina” rope park. The venue offers attractions for the youngest as well as slightly older visitors :) There was no shortage of fun!
Taking advantage of the wonderful weather, the group visited the open-air museum in Zubrzyca. The museum is located in the Orawski Ethnographic Park. To make the visit more varied, the children took part in a quest whose answers showed them the way forward.
The children’s evening routine consisted of mini disco and reading stories. Each camper could end the day dancing to the best-known children’s hits and listening to a favorite story while cuddling their stuffed toy. After a day full of attractions, falling asleep in an instant is guaranteed!
