In Murzasichle, we couldn’t dig ourselves out of the snow!
We returned once again this year to this place with breathtaking views. The slope, which some participants visited every day, was only a 10-minute drive from our U Zbójnika centre. The group spent their time training and enjoying additional attractions. We worked with Jael Origlio from Argentina, who looked after the children and led training sessions.
The younger children had two training sessions a day, while the older group had as many as three! The training sessions were led by coaches Mikołaj Kotowicz, Dariusz Pazdan and Jael Origlio. The training plan included plenty of sparring, kicks and a lot of gymnastics. There was also time for games, especially for our youngest campers. Jael paid great attention to stretching.
Jael Origlio from Argentina joined our team of instructors. She is the current bronze medallist at the ITF Union Taekwon-do World Championships and an athlete from our friendly club Grupo Escorpio from Buenos Aires. Jael led training sessions for both the younger and older groups every day. Our participants were delighted to take part in training conducted in another language and to test themselves under the guidance of a different coach.
Every morning, six camp participants travelled by Ski Bus to the “Hajduk” slope under the care of coach Nikola. The children also took part in classes organised by the ski school, developing their skiing and snowboarding skills. After five days of continuous learning, their abilities had improved tremendously, and the youngest girls even received certificates for participating so bravely in classes with the instructor! It was a good thing there was a tavern on the slope where the children could rest for a while, eat and have something warm to drink after their snowy adventures.
There was no shortage of additional attractions! The group went ice skating at the “Hajduk” Ski Station twice. The second time, several people decided to go tubing, an activity also known as snowtubing. It turned out to be a hit—the children did not want to leave! We also managed to visit the Zakopane Thermal Baths, and despite the low temperatures, many dared to go outside to the hot pools. Of course, team-building games and activities, Just Dance, films and a mini disco were also held at the centre! On the last evening, a highlander came to visit us with oscypek cheese, which the children could buy and take home :) And, of course, eat!
