Colourful, family-oriented and active – Poronin 2023

Colourful, family-oriented and active – Poronin 2023

The camp in Poronin was fantastic! The integration of parents and children was incredible! This was certainly thanks to the attractions organised for the participants at the camp, as well as the excellent work and commitment of the instructors, who took care of both the campers’ physical development and their fantastic well-being.

We spent the time after lunch training in groups divided according to their preferences, and then we visited the resort’s swimming pool. After dinner, we took part in a mini disco, and later in the evening the parents gathered to talk and play board and card games. The second day was already intense. After breakfast, the younger groups went to arts and crafts classes, while the older ones formed teams for group games on the sports fields. Then the younger participants went to the swimming pool, and on the way back, families could ride down a water-covered slide they had made themselves. There was no shortage of fooling around and laughter.

In the afternoon, of course, there was training, and in the evening, as always, more attractions in the form of dancing. The next day, our first excursion awaited us. All the families went to a treetop adventure park, where both the youngest and the oldest participants of our camp could try their hand at climbing walls, obstacles and zip lines of varying difficulty. Afterwards, everyone could take part in activities such as training or swimming, and in the evening an animated film was shown for the children.

In the following days, the campers certainly could not complain about boredom. Several people had planned a mountain hike, but their enthusiasm soon infected practically all the families. It turned into a camp excursion that was supposed to end at the “Murowniec” mountain shelter. However, to everyone’s surprise, even the youngest participants decided to walk towards Czarny Staw Gąsienicowy, covering almost 20 km with elevation gains along the way. The more experienced hikers chose the route to Mount “Karb”, above the aforementioned lake, towards Kościelec, and later descended at the foot of the “Kasprowy Wierch” summit, enjoying views of magnificent lakes and even seeing a real bear.

That was only half of the camp, yet there had already been plenty of interesting activities, with more still ahead for the campers. These included, above all, a colour festival, during which everyone could throw colourful powders at one another to the rhythm of popular music, as well as an excursion to Zakopane. During the trip, we did not stop at Krupówki, but as a camp group we went up to the “Wielka Krokiew” ski jumping hill, where we could feel like our legendary ski jumpers (Adam Małysz and Kamil Stoch), and from where we could also admire the panorama of Zakopane and the mountains.

After descending from the mountain, a wheeled train awaited us and took us to a well-equipped and well-organised education centre. There were presentations, lots of interesting information and games that we could play together. In addition to swimming pools, group games, arts and crafts classes that our female instructors carried out brilliantly, a slide and excursions, a barbecue together was still awaiting us. It all looked delicious, but it is impossible to fit everything that was on the grill into one’s stomach!.

Every participant returned home with new acquaintances, experiences and memories :)
