Two bronze medals at the World Cup in Budapest for Krakowskie Centrum Taekwon-do!

Another edition of one of the most prestigious and demanding tournaments in the world has come to an end – World Kickboxing Cup in Budapest. For three days, the Hungarian capital hosted the absolute world elite. Fights took place simultaneously on as many as 4 rings and 14 mats, and from the very first minutes the sporting level was at the highest, championship level.

Representatives of Krakowskie Centrum Taekwon-do could not be absent from this competition. Our four-person team travelled to Budapest and fought hard, emotional bouts.

Michał Klimek wins two World Cup medals!

Michał Klimek performed excellently, securing a place on the podium twice in the senior competition in the under-57 kg category:

  • Bronze medal – Senior Pointfighting (-57 kg)
  • Bronze medal – Senior Light Contact (-57 kg)

Two medals in two different fighting disciplines at a tournament of this calibre is a tremendous success!

Great courage and valuable experience on the international stage

Great applause and recognition are due to KCT’s other representatives: Zofia Zapolska, Szymon Grzebyk and Krzysztof Jaworski.

All three decided to set the bar extremely high. They all chose to compete twice in the pointfighting discipline – not only in their nominal weight categories, but also in higher categories.

Despite excellent bouts, this time they fell just short of reaching the medal zone. The experience gained on the Hungarian mats is nevertheless invaluable capital that will undoubtedly bear fruit during future competitions at home and abroad.

Pride and motivation to keep working!

We return to Kraków with our heads held high, two medals and a powerful dose of motivation for our next training sessions.

Congratulations to all four athletes for their courage and for proudly representing the colours of Poland on the international stage!
