Getting started and registration

Yes, of course — you can even try two! You may attend the first two training sessions with no financial obligation.

For Little Dragons — at any time. For older groups, we recommend starting in September or October, as the group follows its own program and it becomes harder to catch up later.

We recommend arriving 15 minutes before your first training session to check in with the instructor. We train barefoot, wearing a t-shirt and long sports trousers (tracksuit bottoms or leggings); martial arts attire is also acceptable. It’s a good idea to bring a bottle of mineral water.

Sportsmanago is our system, where we securely store your data. We use it to communicate with you. You can also sign up for a camp or other event through Sportsmanago.

Fees

In accordance with our regulations, classes do not take place during school breaks (holidays and long weekends) throughout the school year. These breaks have already been factored into the semester fee. During the summer holidays, we offer additional groups for those interested, payable separately. Any missed session can be made up in another group with a similar profile.

Accident insurance and federation licenses are already included in the semester fee. Uniforms can be purchased from the instructor or secondhand from fellow club members. In taekwon-do groups, we strongly encourage regularly taking belt exams — these are held 2-3 times a year and are paid separately. Competitors also cover part of the costs of participating in tournaments — the club subsidizes the rest.

Submit your cancellation through the Sportsmanago system or to your instructor.

Children – questions from parents

We welcome all children aged 3 and older to Little Dragons training sessions.

Taekwon-do is a very safe sport. Our training methodology helps prevent injuries, and protective gear keeps competitors safe during tournaments. We introduce contact elements only once we see that participants have developed the necessary skills and understand the principles of safe sports practice.

No. A number of studies on this subject have shown that martial arts training slightly reduces aggression levels in practitioners. If a child is carrying a lot of negative emotions, it’s worth consulting a specialist. On the other hand, if a child is very withdrawn, regular training can help build their confidence.

We welcome everyone who wants to train. If special needs prevent a child from functioning within a group, we offer individual training options.

Adults

If not now, then when? We offer classes tailored to different age groups. There is also the option of a more individualized approach through personal training.

You can do it! That’s exactly why you come to training — to improve your fitness, flexibility, and overall physical condition.

Competitions and exams are entirely voluntary. That said, taking part in exams is the best way to measure your progress, so we strongly encourage it.

Training and equipment

Comfortable trousers or leggings and a t-shirt are enough for your first training sessions. For those training taekwon-do, a dobok (taekwon-do uniform) is required starting from the yellow belt exam. Your coach will let you know when and which sparring protective gear you need to purchase.

No, a medical examination is not required to start training. If there is any important health information that could affect the trainee’s safety, it should be shared with the instructor before the first training session.

Yes, all trainees who have paid their membership fee are insured against accidents that could occur during training, competitions, or camps.

Belts, exams, competitions

Little Dragons receive white belts from us and collect stickers, which they earn through internal exams.

Children, youth, and adults take belt exams in taekwon-do or kickboxing 2-3 times a year.

The path to a black belt takes on average about 7 years for an adult and about 10 years for a child.

Detailed requirements can be found in the “exams” section.

Our club organizes two major tournaments each year.

The St. Nicholas Taekwon-do Tournament is our internal tournament, held every December, open to both Little Dragons and school-age children, including beginners.

The Kraków Cup is an inter-club event held in May. It is open to intermediate and school-age competitors.

Several times a year, we organize trips to national taekwon-do and kickboxing tournaments, including the Polish Championships. Only advanced competitors may take part in these.

For our top competitors, KCT organizes international trips to the European and World Championships. So far, we have traveled to Argentina, Italy, England, Scotland, Armenia, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Greece, Ukraine, Germany, Slovakia, and Hungary, among others.

Personal training

Yes, personal training sessions are available. Group classes are strictly divided by age group. In some locations, children’s and adults’ training sessions take place at the same time.
