12 medals brought back from Moravia Open

12 medals brought back from Moravia Open

Last weekend of September, the Moravia Open competition took place. On the first day, seniors and younger juniors competed, and on the second day, cadets and children. The competition was held under different rules than our domestic events, in a strongly contested international tournament; this did not prevent us from winning 12 medals.

On the first day of the competition, we won 8 medals, or, more specifically, THEY won them:

– Michał Krupa – 2nd place, -64 kg senior sparring; 3rd place, 1 dan senior patterns
– Adam Zięba – 3rd place, -71 kg senior sparring; 3rd place, senior best pointfighting
– Mateusz Kopciński – 3rd place, -85 kg senior sparring
– Ewa Wójcik – 3rd place, 1–4 cup senior patterns
– Gabriela Kowalska – 3rd place, -64 kg older junior sparring
– Emilia Fiutowska – 3rd place, +60 kg younger junior sparring.

While They were competing on the mat, the younger part of our team was only just setting off from Kraków; after arriving, they went sightseeing in Ostrava.

On the second day, we won 4 medals; all four returned home with a medal.

– Zofia Zapolska – 2nd place, -55 kg older young cadets’ sparring category

– Krystyna Jaworska – 2nd place, -150 cm older young cadets’ pointfighting category

– Honorata Kozioł – 3rd place, -150 cm older young cadets’ pointfighting category

– Paweł Wojciechowski – 2nd place, -150 cm older young cadets’ pointfighting category

Congratulations to the competitors!
