Colourful, family-friendly and active – Poronin 2023
Colourful, family-friendly and active – Poronin 2023
The camp in Poronin was fantastic! The integration of parents and children was incredible! This was certainly thanks to the attractions organised for the participants at the camp, as well as the excellent work and commitment of the instructors, who took care of both the campers’ physical development and their fantastic well-being.
We spent the time after lunch training in groups divided according to preferences, and then we familiarised ourselves with the resort’s swimming pool. After dinner, we took part in a mini disco, and later in the evening the parents gathered for conversations, board games and card games. The second day was already intense. After breakfast, the younger groups went to arts and crafts activities, while the older ones formed teams for team games on the sports fields. Then the younger participants went to the swimming pool, and on the way back, families could slide down a handmade slide covered with water. There was no shortage of silliness and laughter.
In the afternoon, of course, there was training, and in the evening, as always, more attractions in the form of dancing. The next day, our first trip awaited us. All the families went to a treetop adventure park, where both the youngest and the oldest participants of our camp could test themselves on climbing walls, obstacles and zip lines of varying difficulty. Afterwards, everyone could take part in activities such as training or swimming, and in the evening an animated film was shown for the children.
In the following days, the campers had no reason to complain about boredom. A mountain trip had been planned for a few people, but their enthusiasm infected practically all the families. It turned into a camp trip that was supposed to end at the “Murowniec” mountain shelter. However, to everyone’s surprise, even the youngest participants decided to head towards Czarny Staw Gąsienicowy, covering almost 20 km with elevation gains along the way. The more experienced hikers chose the route up “Karb” above the aforementioned lake, towards Kościelec, and later descended at the foot of the “Kasprowy Wierch” peak, where they could admire wonderful lakes and even see a real bear.
It was only halfway through the camp, yet there had already been plenty of interesting activities, with more still ahead for the campers. These included, above all, a colour festival, during which everyone could throw coloured powders at one another to the rhythm of popular music, as well as a trip to Zakopane. During the trip, we did not stop at Krupówki, but as a camp we climbed the “Wielka Krokiew” ski jumping hill, where we could feel like our legendary ski jumpers (Adam Małysz and Kamil Stoch), and from where we could also admire the panorama of Zakopane and the mountains.
After descending from the mountain, a wheeled train awaited us and took us to a well-equipped and well-organised education centre. There were presentations, lots of interesting information and games that we could play together. In addition to swimming pools, team games, arts and crafts activities, which our female instructors carried out brilliantly, slides and trips, a shared barbecue was still waiting for us. The eyes would eat it all, but it is impossible to fit everything that was on the grill into your stomach!
Each participant returned home with new acquaintances, experiences and memories :)
