Active relaxation at the foot of the Tatra Mountains – a report from a family sports holiday
Active relaxation at the foot of the Tatra Mountains – a report from a family sports holiday
We have just returned from a week in Bukowina Tatrzańska, and we have to admit that the pace was intense. The Grand Stasinda guesthouse proved to be an excellent base for excursions, while the entire trip combined intensive sport with simply good, family relaxation in the mountains.
Training for children and adults
There was truly plenty of activity, regardless of age. Taekwon-do reigned supreme on the mats – children and young people had the opportunity to work hard on their technique, kicks and overall fitness, while the coaches made sure that no one stood still. Adults were not given any special treatment either. Daily functional training, yoga, Pilates, kickboxing sessions and volleyball matches took their toll, and many people also regularly used the squash court to play quick matches.
Creative activities for children
The schedule for the youngest participants was arranged so that boredom was out of the question. In addition to sports, the children had plenty of art classes and educational and dance workshops. There was also time for organised pool games under the supervision of instructors. As a result, the younger group quickly found common ground and formed a close-knit group, while parents gained a few hours during the day just for themselves.
Relaxation in the pool and sauna area
After several hours of training, the wellness area was probably the most popular place in the entire resort. The large, 25-metre pool with warm water and two jacuzzis helped relax tense muscles, while the saunas and salt grotto proved to be the best way to get up the next day without severe muscle soreness. The youngest children also had their own safe paddling pool.
Evenings, cinema and conversations together
When the sports activities ended, the more relaxed part of the day began. The children often gathered for evening film screenings or went wild in the playroom, while the adults had time to sit peacefully, drink good coffee and simply chat. There were also group outings to the hotel bowling alley and discos in the function room, which brought the whole group together wonderfully.
Facilities, food and the mountain atmosphere
The rooms at Grand Stasinda were comfortable and provided space for recovery, while the views of the Tatra Mountains made every morning special. After such intense days, food was crucial – the open-buffet meals made it possible to quickly replenish the calories burned.
Thank you to all participants for the positive energy throughout the trip!
See you next year!
