II Summer Day Camp Session in Łagiewniki 2025
On 14 July, we started the summer day camp in Łagiewniki. Trainer Ludwik Oleś and Valerii Boiko were responsible for the organisation, safety and fun. Every day was full of excitement and new experiences. See for yourselves what we prepared for our participants this time!
Monday – visit to the National Bank of Poland
On the first day, we went to the National Bank of Poland on Basztowa Street. Together with an animator, we toured an exhibition dedicated to Polish currency. The participants learned how coins and banknotes are made, saw the Treasury and a real gold bar. It was a simple economics lesson in the form of a game.
Tuesday – discovering the secrets of Fort 52 “Borek”
The second day was spent on a historical trip to Fort 52 “Borek”. With a guide, we explored the restored interiors of the site, including underground corridors, casemates, firing positions and the caponier. The children learned about the history of military equipment and were able to walk along the fort’s outer embankments. After returning, there was still time for games and outdoor sports.
Wednesday – discoveries in nature
Wednesday transported us into the world of nature. At the Jagiellonian University’s Centre for Natural Sciences Education, the children took part in the museum game “Animal Mythbusters”. It was a great opportunity to verify popular beliefs about fauna and learn many interesting facts.
Thursday – a creative journey into the world of LEGO
On the fourth day, we visited the LEGO Brick Museum. The Bricks & Figs exhibition delighted us with its variety of models, while the construction workshops allowed each participant to create their own unique work.
Friday – a cinematic finale
We spent the last day of the summer day camp at the cinema, watching the film “The Smurfs”. After the screening, there was still time for games together and a summary of the whole week. We finished the summer day camp with smiles on our faces, enriched by new memories.
