Report from the KCT Day Camp in Łagiewniki – Session II
Report from the KCT Day Camp in Łagiewniki – Session II
On 27–31 July 2026 at Primary School No. 56 at 65–71 Fredry Street in Krakow, another day camp took place. Children aged 6 to 13 took part in the sports day camp – both KCT club members and participants taking their first steps on the mat. The rich programme combined Taekwon-do training, trips, creative workshops and plenty of outdoor activities.
Day I: An active start in Kurdwanów and first steps on the mat
Monday began with a strong, dynamic start. We headed first to Krakow’s Kurdwanów district, where the children bonded during an exciting game of bowling and fun in an activity zone full of physical challenges. Although the clouds promised rain, the weather was kind and allowed us to take a relaxed walk back. After a nutritious lunch and a moment of quiet at the base on Fredry Street, the participants moved on to the sports part – their first Taekwon-do training session, during which they learned about basic stances, dojo discipline and martial arts etiquette.
Day II: Modern technology and the brick-built world of Bricks & Figs
The second day took us into the world of creative building at Bricks & Figs in Łagiewniki. Morning Lego brick workshops were combined with modern technology – the children created their own constructions, which were then turned into animated films with the help of artificial intelligence. The next activities included a guided tour of a unique exhibition, a puzzle-filled outdoor game and time for souvenir shopping. After returning to school, resting and having lunch, the children went to training again.
Day III: Salt cave and water-based relaxation
Wednesday’s programme focused on comprehensive recovery and recreation. We began the day with a visit to a salt cave, whose atmospheric interior and health-promoting microclimate delighted the whole group. Soon afterwards, we went to the swimming pool – some participants learned to swim in deep water, others used the slides and paddling pool, while those who enjoyed relaxing rested in the warm jacuzzi. We spent the afternoon at a nearby playground.
Day IV: The culinary art of pizza
Thursday morning greeted us with beautiful sunshine, which we immediately used for a morning dose of outdoor exercise. After a second breakfast, the whole group set off for professional culinary workshops, during which each child learned how to make pizza, independently choosing toppings for their own base. The delicious meal prepared by the children themselves gave the participants plenty of energy for an intense afternoon taekwon-do training session focused on formal patterns and dynamic kicks.
Day V: Cinematic excitement, archery and the grand finale of the session
The final day of the session brought plenty of joy and well-deserved rest. We spent the morning in a cool cinema watching the animated film “Toy Story 5”, and on the way back to school, we visited another playground along our route. After lunch, the room became a zone of all-round fun: from archery and safe duels with soft foam swords, through team games, to making beaded decorations. We closed the session with a joint summary, full of smiles and satisfaction from overcoming sporting challenges.
Thank you to all participants for their energy, discipline during training and wonderful atmosphere every day! For more photos, visit the CAMP TKD website.
