Report from the summer sports camp in Poręba Wielka

The 2021 camp season began with a 12-day trip to Poręba Wielka. It was not easy due to the packed schedule, but all the participants handled it fantastically! As many as 106 people took part in this edition! See for yourselves what both the training sessions and leisure activities of our students looked like.

Each camp day began with formal-pattern training at 07:00 in the morning. The participants were divided according to rank so that they could properly prepare for the examination in their groups. Taking advantage of the sunny weather and the extensive grounds of the facility, most of the patterns took place outdoors.

The sessions led by Jakub Dziliński, a medalist at the Polish, European and World Championships in Taekwon-do and Kickboxing, were exceptionally valuable. Kuba conducted pointfighting classes for the campers, drawing attention to aspects of combat that were unusual for our students.

The heat spared no one, so trips to the nearby river were a pleasant way to relax a little. The participants definitely liked the idea. There was rest, fun, and even building dams out of stones!

For many, the trip to Stare Wierchy proved to be a challenge. The youngest children fought bravely to reach the very summit of the mountain. After two hours of walking, the satisfaction was incredible! Once the goal had been reached, a picnic was held, and the campers could eat the ice cream they had been looking forward to and enjoy other treats. When everyone had gathered enough energy for the return journey, the group headed toward the coach, which was waiting at the end of the yellow trail. The return also took about two hours. Everyone really did a medal-worthy job!

An additional attraction for the campers (and instructors) was a game of Archery Tag. It is a competitive activity that teaches the basics of archery. At first, everyone could take a few “free shots” and get used to the equipment, and then play on one of the two teams, without exception! Everyone tried to find their footing in this new situation and gain new experience. Above all, the activity proved to be a wonderful source of joy, as evidenced by the commemorative photographs.

That was not the end of the excitement! Another attraction was an inflatable climbing wall—a fantastic exercise for strengthening muscles and building endurance. The campers smiled as soon as they saw it. As it turned out, practically everyone began waiting for the next turn, hoping to climb it once more.

Swimming, team-building activities, mini disco, outdoor games and activities, and technique training—we carried out all these activities during our 12-day summer camp. The schedule was very packed, but of course everyone managed (many did not even want to go back).

To sweeten the return home, the campers received a commemorative photograph on which, in turn, they signed their names for one another.
