Sporting and Organizational Success at the International Polish Championships

The 24th International Polish Taekwon-do Championships of ZS PUT ended with a double success for our club—sporting and organizational. Sporting, because we took 5th place in the competition’s medal classification, winning as many as 12 gold medals. Organizational, because we gathered the largest number of competitors in 3 years—621 from 28 clubs from Poland, Austria and Lithuania.

The largest ZS PUT event in 3 years took place on 18 and 19 March 2017 at the “Kolna” Sports and Recreation Centre in Kraków. It gathered more than 1,000 people—competitors from Poland and abroad, judges, coaches, parents and supporters. Despite this, the competition proceeded very smoothly and safely.

Krakowskie Centrum Taekwon-do, as the tournament host, entered a 72-person team of competitors. In total, they won 31 medals, including 12 gold, 11 silver and 8 silver medals. In the overall classification of the competition, we took 5th place. Our senior team proved particularly strong, taking 1st place in the classification for this age group, while Adam Zięba and Dobrochna Dolicka won the titles of the best seniors of the Championships.

The full results of our competitors can be found in the final competition report: protokol koncowy mp krakow 2017_z.

The International Polish Taekwon-do Championships of ZS PUT were held with financial support from the Małopolska Region and the City of Kraków.
