This is what the Winter Family Holiday in Brenna was like!
This year we spent our winter family holiday in winter-autumn weather, but we managed! With good company, taekwon-do training and a break from everyday matters, little else is needed for happiness. 53 people took part in this edition.
Our holiday began on Sunday, 2 February, and lasted until Saturday. During this time, we managed to swim at the Aqua Park in Wisła, roast sausages over a campfire and visit Chlebowa Chata, where we learned what life was like in the old days and learned about the life of bees. But above all, we ate delicious podpłomyki, which we made ourselves with toppings of our choice. Both children and adults enjoyed these attractions, which replaced the previously planned skiing trips during the first 2 days. As we wrote, autumn surprised us this winter. Fortunately, when we left Chlebowa Chata with full stomachs, it started to snow—and heavily. Our hope of having some fun on the slopes returned!
On Wednesday, it was time for skiing! From that day until the end of the camp, we went to the slopes after breakfast. During the first two days, we skied on the slope in Wisła. Only there were the conditions good enough for experienced skiers to enjoy skiing, while beginners did not encounter major difficulties learning. On the last day, we went to the slope in Brenna, near the centre. It was a real test of character. Just after we arrived, it began to rain; only the toughest participants remained on the slope. During all our stays on the slopes, coach Karolina ran a ski school. There were 2 groups—a beginner group and a further-training group—so that everyone could return from the camp with new skills.
It was the same during the taekwon-do training sessions. Małe Smoki trained their fitness and technique with coach Kamila. For some, this was quite a challenge, because the training sessions lasted 1 hour, rather than the usual 30 or 45 minutes. At the same time, the parents were working up a sweat on the mat, training alternately under the guidance of coaches Ludwik and Michał. Some began attending training sessions after the camp! The Duże Smoki trained their kicks and honed their technique to enter the new season with energy. Occasionally, advanced training sessions were held in the evenings under the guidance of coach Mikołaj.
We look forward to seeing you in Bukowina—see you there!
