On December 5, a training seminar was held in Ostrava under the guidance of the outstanding coaches Katya and Oleg Solovey.
Ms. Katyanа is an accomplished athlete and a multiple World Champion in Taekwon-do and kickboxing. She belongs to the International Taekwondo Federation. Coach Oleg is one of the best coaches in the world. He ensures a high level of training and continually works to improve athletes’ training methods. The best athletes, medalists of the European and World Championships, train under his guidance.
Seven athletes from the club team, including Dobrochna Dolicka, Karolina Nowak, Karolina Czech, Ola Kucharz, Adam Zięba, Michał Gąsiorczyk and Mateusz Kucharz, improved their skills together with coach Mikołaj.
The seminar was divided into two parts. During five hours of training, the athletes learned tactical aspects of preparing for sports competition in taekwondo and kickboxing. It was very intensive, but our team members gave their all, sweating profusely.
The knowledge acquired during the seminar will certainly contribute to even better results for our athletes.
Read what participating in the seminar gave our team members:
Dobrochna Dolicka: The seminar was very valuable for me; I saw how athletes at world level fight and how much I still need to improve. Seeing Katya and Oleg in action was priceless!
Adam Zięba: I remember the entire seminar very positively. It was tough and intense, but everything took place in a great atmosphere. We learned many new and useful techniques. I believe that thanks to them we will be even more difficult opponents for our rivals. It would be great to be able to participate in similar meetings more often.
Karolina Nowak: The trip to Ostrava was an incredible sporting experience for me. I had the pleasure of learning from an outstanding athlete of world-class level, a multiple medalist at international competitions, and from a coach recognized as one of the best in the world. The entire seminar was devoted to sports competition, with an emphasis on clean, point-scoring combat. The aspects discussed, such as the ability to maintain distance and move correctly during a fight, are the foundation of high-level competition, and all seminar participants are certainly striving for that. I personally admire the instructors as well as the style of fighting they practice, which is why this training was a double pleasure for me. I gained a great deal from this meeting, and my desire to deepen my knowledge in this area is now even greater. I hope this was not my last meeting with Katya and her coach.
