Winter madness at a family holiday in Korbielów
Winter madness at a family holiday in Korbielów
We visited Korbielów for the second time, but it was winter that truly stole our hearts. Ideal weather conditions, a slope 2 minutes from the hotel and no queues for the lifts. It is also worth adding that the 2nd longest ski run in Poland begins at the foot of Pilsko. It could not have been better!
Every day we enjoyed the winter weather, and the mornings were devoted to madness on the slopes. Interested children and teenagers had 2-hour classes with ski instructors every day. There were 3 groups, so everyone could find a level suitable for them and make full use of this time to hone their skiing skills. The remaining participants skied independently under the supervision of KCT instructors.
After lunch, taekwondo training sessions were held separately for children, teenagers and adults. The biggest “attraction” of the training sessions was Jael Origlio, 2nd dan, who came to us directly from Argentina to lead training sessions for our students. Despite the language barrier, the classes were very popular among the trainees. Sometimes we went back to the slopes after lunch—it would have been a shame not to take advantage of such good conditions—and then training sessions for the older campers and adults were held after dinner. In addition, the youngest children had daily swimming-pool activities and art classes, during which participants painted, among other things, pictures on canvas (some of them were worth millions ;)), as well as made their own board games and table football games. These activities took place in one continuous 3-hour block, giving parents time for themselves.
On the last day, there was a barbecue dinner with a highlander band playing in the background. In addition to delicious food straight from the campfire, the band members made sure to put us in a good mood. There were sing-alongs, as well as activities and games for the youngest children. However, the greatest excitement was caused by a competition consisting of hammering in a nail. As you might guess, it did not take long for the men to get excited; even Mikołaj himself—the trainer of all trainers—entered the contest. The women did not let the men get ahead and also joined the competition. The men mostly relied on strength, while the women relied on strategy. Stefania emerged triumphant, receiving a recording with music by our guests as a prize.
We will probably meet in Korbielów again next year, thanks to our participants, who came up with the idea themselves. If you have not been there yet, we warmly invite you next year. See you!
