TAEKWON-DO
What is Taekwon-do?
Taekwon-do is a Korean martial art whose name embodies its essence: tae – foot techniques, kwon – hand techniques, do – the way. We practice Taekwon-do in the ITF (International Taekwon-Do Federation) style, following the tradition established by Gen. Choi Hong Hi, the founder of this discipline. The ITF style combines several elements: hand and foot techniques, formal patterns (tul), sparring, self-defense, and board breaking. This develops the entire body, not just one skill. Equally important is the mental aspect: Taekwon-do is based on five tenets – courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit.

What to expect during training?
Each training session begins with a warm-up, after which we proceed to learning techniques, partner exercises, and sparring elements, concluding with stretching. Progress is visible and measurable: you confirm subsequent grades with an exam and a new belt color, all the way to black belt. For children and older participants, we conduct classes using separate methodologies.
Children
Children learn the basics of traditional techniques and sport sparring, which they practice safely using foam sticks. A large part of the classes consists of gymnastics elements that develop agility and motor coordination. We teach through movement and play, and the principles of Taekwon-do translate into concentration, discipline, and self-confidence in everyday life.

Youth and Adults
In training for older participants, we deepen techniques, sparring, and self-defense, while simultaneously building strength, speed, endurance, and flexibility. We adapt the intensity to the group’s capabilities, so you can start regardless of age and current fitness level.
