The 7th Kraków Cup is behind us – attendance record broken!

On Sunday, 25 May 2025, we organised another edition of our tournament at the Com Com Zone Sports Hall – the 7th Kraków Cup. We are proud to say that it was the biggest Kraków Cup in history – 542 female and male competitors from 13 clubs from all over Poland took part. That is almost twice as many as last year!

A sporting atmosphere and healthy competition

From early morning, it was clear in the hall that this would be a special day. At 8:30, the judges met to make sure everything was perfectly prepared, and shortly afterwards the youngest participants arrived at the starting line – children born in 2019 and 2018. The hall was literally alive – applause, coaches’ encouragement and joyful noise. The children gave their all in their events!

A variety of events and age categories

The competition was well organised – everyone competed in their own age group and at the appropriate level of advancement. The youngest children tested themselves in patterns, special techniques, speed-kicking contests (ap chagi) and soft-stick fighting. Older competitors took part in more demanding events – from semi-contact all the way to light-contact.

The cadet bouts sparked particularly strong emotions – there was truly plenty to watch: excellent technique, quick reactions and plenty of courage!

The divisions were as follows:

  • Children 2019–2018 – patterns, special techniques, speed-kicking contests (ap chagi), soft-stick
  • Children 2017–2016 – patterns, special techniques, speed-kicking contests (ap chagi), soft-stick or semi-contact
  • Younger juniors 2015–2013 – patterns, special techniques, speed-kicking contests (dollyo chagi), soft-stick or semi-contact
  • Cadets 2012–2010 – patterns, special techniques, semi-contact, light-contact

The competitors gave their all – some were making their debut on the mat, while others were taking another step in their sporting journey. Regardless of experience, everyone deserved thunderous applause!

Medals, diplomas and sporting emotions

What mattered most to us was that every child could experience the joy of competing – regardless of the result. That is why every participant received a commemorative diploma, as well as medals for the first three places. The mats were full of emotion and passion – it was clear how much work the competitors had put into their preparations.

Many of them won places on the podium, but everyone left their heart on the mat – and that is what matters most! The coaches also had a difficult task at times – some bouts were so evenly matched that choosing the best competitor was far from obvious. Even greater applause goes to everyone for their sporting attitude and fighting until the end!

Not only sport – also fun and relaxation

For the youngest participants, we prepared a special play zone – there were inflatable attractions, a photo booth with props, ice cream, and coffee and something sweet for parents and coaches. Thanks to this, the competition had a family atmosphere in which everyone could find something for themselves – not only on the mat.

Thanks – success through teamwork

An event like this could not have succeeded without the commitment of the entire team. Many thanks to the judges, who professionally supervised every start. Coaches – it was thanks to you that the competitors were so well prepared and confident. Parents and guardians, your support
and encouragement are a true source of strength! And of course – competitors, you were the heart of this event. We must also remember
the organisers and volunteers, who made sure everything ran smoothly and in a great atmosphere. Thanks to all of you, this event was one of a kind!

Thanks to the President of the City of Kraków

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the President of the City of Kraków for granting honorary patronage to our event.
