Winter madness at the family holiday in Korbielów
Winter madness at the family holiday in Korbielów
We are visiting Korbielów for the second time, but it was during winter that it truly stole our hearts. Ideal weather conditions, a slope 2 minutes from the hotel and no queues for the lifts. It is also worth adding that the 2nd longest ski run in Poland begins at the foot of Pilsko. It could not have been better!
Every day we took advantage of the winter weather, and the mornings were devoted to fun on the slopes. The interested children and teenagers had 2-hour classes with ski instructors every day. There were 3 groups, so everyone could find a level suited to them and make the most of this time to hone their skiing skills. The remaining participants skied independently under the supervision of KCT instructors.
After lunch, taekwondo training sessions were held separately for children, teenagers and adults. The greatest “attraction” of the training sessions was Jael Origlio, 2nd dan, who came to us straight from Argentina to lead training for our students. Despite the language barrier, the classes were very popular among the trainees. Sometimes we went to the slopes again after lunch; it would have been a shame not to take advantage of such good conditions. On those days, training for the older campers and adults took place after dinner. Additionally, the youngest participants had daily swimming-pool activities and art classes, during which they painted pictures on canvas, among other things (some of them were worth millions ;)), and also made board games and table football sets by hand. These activities took place in one continuous 3-hour block, giving parents some time for themselves.
On the last day, there was a barbecue dinner with a Highland band performing in the background. In addition to the delicious food straight from the campfire, the band members made sure to put us in a good mood. There were songs, as well as activities and games for the youngest participants. However, the greatest excitement was caused by a competition involving hammering a nail. As you might expect, it did not take long for the men to get involved; even Mikołaj himself—the trainer of all trainers—joined the contest. The women did not let the men get ahead and also entered the competition. The men mostly relied on strength, while the women relied on tactics. Stefania emerged triumphant, receiving a record featuring the music of our guests as her prize.
We will probably meet in Korbielów again next year, thanks to our participants, who came up with the idea themselves. Anyone who has not yet been there is warmly invited to join us next year. See you!
